Our Product and Tech Development Worldpayers unleash the potential of businesses across the world. We caught up with Worldpay’s Chief Product Officer, Cindy Turner to learn more about what it means to be a female Tech leader, and why she thinks Product is a career path worth exploring.

Tell us a little bit about your career journey.

I’ve always been attracted to challenging and dynamic roles. I started my career in consulting, before moving into payments and Fintech. Firstly, leading Strategic Partnerships at Visa, and then moving to JPMorgan Chase & Co as Managing Director of their Merchant Services & Wholesale business.

From there, I joined PayPal to lead PayPal Braintree and the implementation globally, before taking on my current role as Chief Product Officer at Worldpay. We process over $2.5T annually for more than one million merchants globally. It’s an exciting time to be part of this team as we continue evolving and innovating to unleash the potential of every business.

What drew you to Fintech and the Payments industry?

In Fintech & Payments, you sit at the intersection of innovation and customer needs, solving complex problems that shape the future. It’s dynamic and deeply rewarding.

As someone with years of experience in the Tech sector, what drives you?

For me, it’s the variety that drives me. Technology lets you use your whole brain, blending creativity with logic to bring teams together and deliver results. It's both empowering and energizing.

As Chief Product Officer, you’re responsible for Worldpay’s Product organization, roadmap and delivery. How do you balance all those responsibilities?

Being a successful product leader for a technology company is about owning your space, influencing outcomes, and seeing the tangible commercial impact of your decisions. It’s a lot, but that’s what makes it so fulfilling.

What would you say to someone considering a career in Product?

Own it! It’s a career that gives you the freedom to master your field while navigating diverse challenges—from strategy to finance—and make a real impact along the way. I’d recommend it to anyone.
