This World IBD Day (May 19, 2026), we’re proud to spotlight how one Globalpayer is helping to raise awareness of the hidden challenges faced by people living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Farish Lakhani, Corporate Sales Director in our Global SMB business, has been openly sharing his experience of living with colitis. As a member of Able, our disability and access inclusion community, Farish uses his voice to support others and encourage more open conversations about invisible conditions.

Last year, Farish starred in Crohn’s & Colitis UK’s “How it feels” campaign, launched during Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week. The campaign highlighted real people living with IBD, bringing to light the everyday realities that often go unseen. Farish became the face of the campaign’s workplace poster, using his story to demonstrate the power of speaking up and the impact that open, inclusive conversations can have.

“If sharing my experience helps even one person feel less alone, then it’s worth it,” said Farish. “Awareness starts with honest conversations, and being part of Global Payments’ Able community gives me the platform to do that. I’m proud to represent Crohn’s & Colitis UK in this campaign to help make those conversations happen. Living with a hidden condition like this can be physically and emotionally challenging, but I’ve also discovered a strength I didn’t know I had. It’s taught me resilience, patience, and how important it is to have support around you.”

Through his advocacy, Farish continues to help create a more understanding and inclusive workplace - ensuring that those living with IBD feel seen, supported, and empowered.
