What do you love about being a Tech Worldpayer?
I’d have to say it’s the combination of technology and strategy - I get the best of both worlds.
In my role leading Product Partnerships, I not only get to know and learn about our products, technology and services, but also how they impact and add value to our customers, as well as the global economy. My role is to understand how these products fit into our strategy and the financial impact these partnerships could have. With my training as an engineer along with my MBA, it’s the perfect combination of analytics and business.

What’s your proudest career moment?
As a technologist, it’s always magical to see a product I’ve worked on come to life. I’d say the proudest moment was when patents were issued for products I helped develop. It’s a great feeling to have a legacy for a brainchild our team created.
As an inventor, it raises our bar to continue performing at the highest standards, and of course, always with a customer focus.

Tell us about your career, and how Worldpay has helped you own it.
I’ve been a Worldpayer for over 12 years and have worn many hats during that time including roles in Treasury, Investor Relations, Product, Strategy, to my current role in Financial Partnerships. It doesn’t matter what role I’m doing, it’s simply about making payments easy for the customer, and winning as a team with my colleagues.
From day one, I’ve been empowered to be myself and supported to develop and grow. I especially felt this during my pregnancy and maternity experience - being a mum to two young boys is a juggle, but at Worldpay, I’ve always had the understanding and flexibility I need to succeed.

Tell us about your Tech career.
I started my career as a Software Engineer 20 years ago and quickly moved into Product management. This was before the job function and role were mature in the Tech industry!
Throughout the years, I’ve worked in various roles from Product Owner, Business Product Owner, Product Growth and more. I’ve always loved the element of being close to the customer. To be able to hear their feedback and challenges and bring it back to the team to solution and solve their problems is exciting. Let’s just say, we’re never standing still.

What’s rewarding about your role in Tech?
For me, it’s that the results are tangible - you can see them come to life. Watching the development of a new product from the design phase all the way through to launch is something that not everyone gets to experience.
And we’re creating products that are at the heart of everything we do, from getting our morning coffees, to buying clothes and even trying to score tickets to the next big concert. In my role enabling new payment methods, not only do I understand how different people like to pay, but I’m also directly supporting the growth of businesses across the world.

How do you own it for our customers?
I look after the internal tools that support the underwriting, credit risk review and transaction monitoring for our customers. All of which help identify fraud and push through good accounts as quickly as possible. This not only ensures that real merchants can process faster, but also that fraud is stopped in its tracks, ideally before it even begins.
I work with so many internal teams to make this happen. I’m surrounded by changemakers and innovators, all of whom are willing to go the extra mile for our customers and win as a team to succeed.

Why do you love working in Tech?
For me, it’s the element of building something. You get to start something from nothing. You’ll be presented with a challenge, and it’s up to you to create the solution.
I’m currently part of our global Salesforce Engineering team - it’s a niche and young technology so there’s always something new to learn or develop. My team are also a huge motivator for me, we do great work, but we also have a lot of fun while doing it!
