From our Graduate program to Senior Business Analyst, Alex is owning her career at Worldpay. We caught up with her for a rundown of her best memories, advice and more.

What’s your best advice for a Worldpayer?

Best advice? Definitely to jump into every opportunity headfirst. Since becoming a Worldpayer as a graduate, I’ve had the opportunity to own projects that impact people all over the world. It’s always exciting knowing your work genuinely affects people every single day, everywhere.

Speaking of jumping in headfirst, you take a leading role in our Illuminate Asian & Pacific Inclusion Network. Tell us about that.

It’s something I’ve always been really passionate about, so to be able to pull it into my work life has been amazing. Illuminate is just one of our Worldpay Inclusion Networks, we have nine total that work to represent our colleague-base. We organise networking events, speakers, educational sessions and cultural events to share our local celebrations. It’s really special. Organizing our recent Lunar New Year events was pretty memorable. We coordinated across our global hubs to spread cultural awareness and enjoy the festivities with Worldpayers from every background. I’ll never forget the live dragon dancers in our London Hub!

You’re not just owning it in the workplace, we also hear you’re a talented athlete representing Great Britain. How has Worldpay helped you balance your work and personal aspirations?

At Worldpay, our culture is built by all of us living our values and behaviors every day, and my favorite Worldpay behavior has to be “Empowered”. Not only when I’m showing up to work, presenting or leading projects, but also outside of work. Since joining Worldpay, I’ve had the privilege of being part of Team GB Frisbee which takes me all over the world for competitions. I’ve always felt so empowered and supported both by my team and by Worldpay to pursue something that I love, and that helps me show up as a better Worldpayer every day.

Final question to finish with. If you had to sum it up, what’s the best thing about being a Worldpayer?

Without a doubt it’s my team. There’s just this energy. We produce great work and great ideas, but we always have fun while doing it.
