From pushing boundaries and embracing challenges, to constantly innovating and staying curious, find out more about what being a Worldpayer means to Anjali Agarwal.
Hi Anjali! Thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about your role?
I’m Senior Director of Engineering, leading the Customer Experience Product Line for our Corporate and SMB customers based. This covers Portals, Mobile Apps and Value-Added Services. I’m responsible for driving product innovation, enhancing customer experiences, and ensuring our engineering strategies are aligned with our wider business objectives. I’ve been a Worldpayer for 9 years and am based in our London hub.
Sounds like a big role! What does a typical day look like for you?
I start my day at 7am, grab breakfast and get my kids ready for school. I spend some time catching up on the latest industry news, before diving into meetings. Throughout the day, you can find me leading strategy meetings, collaborating with our global engineering teams, connecting with the engineers who report to me, and determining new ideas for innovation.
At Worldpay, our mission is to help customers unleash their potential. How do you and your team do this?
We’re deeply customer centric. Our priority is delivering exceptional digital products that meet the evolving needs of our merchants. We do this by collaborating with cross-functional teams across the globe, to make sure we’re delivering seamless payment solutions.
What does it mean to be a Worldpayer?
Our values are at the heart of everything we do. We think like a customer – always focusing on their needs and making sure their feedback and insights drive our decision making. We act like an owner – taking responsibility for the products we develop and making decisions for long-term success and scalability. And we win as a team – celebrating our wins together and supporting each other through the challenges.
What’s one piece of advice you’d share with a potential Worldpayer?
Never stop learning. Our industry is rapidly evolving, so you need to stay curious, be open to new ideas and be willing to adapt. The more you invest in your personal and professional development, the more you’ll be able to contribute to the people you work with and the customers you support.
