Job Description

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our ever-evolving Valutec Platform team and help shape the future of global commerce.
What you’ll own
Design, develop, and maintain high‑throughput, low‑latency payment services supporting Valutec’s stored value and gift card platform.
Lead development efforts across transaction processing, settlement, reporting, and integrations with processors, partners, and downstream systems.
Contribute to platform modernization initiatives, including cloud-native architecture and Azure migration.
Build resilient services with strong focus on availability, security, and fault tolerance.
Partner closely with Product, QA, Operations, and Architecture to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and architectural decision-making.
Support production operations, including incident response, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting engineering best practices and code quality standards.
What you’ll bring
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in payments, fintech, or high-availability transaction systems.
Strong proficiency in one or more enterprise languages (e.g., Java, C#, .NET, or similar).
Experience building distributed systems, APIs, and data-driven services.
Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL), including performance tuning and transactional integrity.
Experience with secure system design, encryption, authentication, and compliance-driven development.
Proven ability to work in production-critical environments with formal change management and release controls.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
It’s a bonus if you have
Experience in stored value, gift card, or payment authorization systems.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including app services, databases, and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
Knowledge of PCI DSS or other regulated compliance frameworks.
Experience supporting legacy platforms while driving incremental modernization.
