About the team
Our Tech and Security teams keep us moving each day, no matter where we are in the world. From the hardware to the networks and everything between, they humbly make it all happen.

As a Senior Data Architect, you’ll help design the foundation for how our payments platforms perform and scale across a complex data environment. Your expertise will influence the architecture of critical data systems and workflows of a payments processing ~14 billion payments annually across 174 countries. You will providing system designs and governance across the data architecture landscape, and building solutions across the acquiring domain as it expands in capabilities to handle real time data processing, data localisation legislation, and large scale data processing.

You will be working as part of a team of system architects defining the platform architecture across multiple domains within an acquiring landscape with global scope, building end-to-end solutions and architectural patterns to ensure the platform can perform at scale.

What you’ll own

• Lead the design of scalable, resilient, and high-performance data architectures that meet strategic business objectives.

• Documenting and communicate architecture roadmaps and designs to business and technical audiences.

• Provide solution design leadership to engineering teams and accountability across data architectures in multiple domains.

• Establish and maintain a library of reusable functional component models for Global Payments product lines.

• Building highly scalable services in hybrid cloud environments, leveraging modern day design patterns including event driven system design.

• Standardising architecture documentation and applying technology governance around platform architectural patterns.

• Exploring new business domains and providing architectural oversight to impact on existing platform capabilities.

• Support audit and compliance requirements such as encryption, security, and data retention.

What you bring

• Proven experience as a data architect with a track record of designing and implementing complex data architecture solutions in enterprise environments.

• Expertise in data modelling, database design and data warehousing concepts.

• Proficiency in relational and noSQL databases

• Experience of data governance and data quality management.

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.

• Proven leadership abilities

• Expertise with end-to-end systems development life cycles and a background leading large projects.

• A bachelor’s in computer science or engineering, or the equivalent experience – post-graduate education desired.
