Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for an Oracle Database Manager to join our ever-evolving Database team and help us unleash the potential of every business.
This position will be based out of either Atlanta, GA or Cincinnati, OH 3 days per week on a hybrid schedule.
What you’ll own as the Oracle Database Manager
Provide leadership for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Exadata platforms, managing a team of DBAs and database engineers supporting enterprise environments.
Define the strategic vision for database platforms, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and enterprise architecture standards.
Lead, coach, and develop database teams to drive performance, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
Oversee planning and delivery of Oracle and PostgreSQL initiatives, ensuring on-time, on-budget execution with strong quality, security, and performance outcomes.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient database architectures, including automation, performance tuning, and security controls.
Partner with vendors, service providers, and senior leaders to select and manage database hardware, software, and services aligned to strategy and standards.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and internal policies through controls, audits, and proactive risk management.
Monitor performance and capacity, driving optimization to improve availability, reliability, and efficiency.
Lead database incident and problem management, coordinating rapid resolution of complex issues to minimize business impact.
Build organizational capability through training, career development, and a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Engage IT leadership, application teams, and business stakeholders, providing transparency into initiatives, risks, and service improvements.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 6+ years of database management or administration experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role (or equivalent experience).
Extensive experience leading database administration and engineering teams in a large, global enterprise environment.
Proven expertise supporting large‑scale Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Exadata platforms in high‑transaction, hybrid (on‑prem and cloud) environments.
Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with a track record of building, mentoring, and developing high‑performing technical teams.
Deep technical knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, Exadata, storage, and security architectures.
Hands‑on experience designing modern, automated database platforms with a focus on standardization, observability, and operational efficiency.
Demonstrated success leading complex technology initiatives, including planning, budgeting, resource management, and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear insights for executives and business leaders.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, leveraging automation, telemetry, and AI‑driven insights to improve performance and reliability.
Strategic mindset with experience defining long‑term platform roadmaps and driving modernization through automation and AIOps practices.
It’s a bonus if you have
Industry‑recognized Oracle and PostgreSQL certifications preferred (e.g., Oracle Database Administration, RAC, Exadata, or equivalent PostgreSQL credentials).
Cloud, automation, security, or IT service management certifications (e.g., cloud database platforms, DevOps, ITIL) are a plus for leaders driving modern, automated database operations.
