 Senior Sales & Operations Trainer | Global SMB L&D | United Kingdom

About the team 

Our Global SMB Learning & Development team is responsible for training our Sales and Operations colleagues, who serve SMB customers across the UK and ROI.  

 

The team works closely with our internal and external stakeholders across the organization to enhance their knowledge and skills in line with our strategic goals and initiatives. Our aim is to drive a blended learning experience that is engaging, impactful and supports personal and professional growth.  

 

What you’ll be doing 

The Senior Sales and Operations Trainer will consult with our external partners and act as the liaison between the Partner and Worldpay. They will focus on managing relationships, identifying training needs, and designing and delivering training programs to our partnership colleagues. The role involves educating partnership employees on products and services and managing referral processes. Additionally, the trainer will act as a consultant to understand training needs, strengthen partnerships, deliver a seamless customer experience, and work closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts. The trainer will also provide leadership and mentorship, participate in other L&D projects as needed, and continuously improve training programs by staying updated with industry trends and best practices. 

 

What you’ll own  

 

Training Development and Delivery: 

  • Deliver onboarding and ongoing training, including advanced sales skills and compliance training 

  • Plan and execute pre-course activities to align learning styles with objectives 

  • Develop new programs and content to address specific needs 

  • Use multiple delivery methods and media for training 

  • Maintain instructor credibility and a safe learning environment 

  • Administer assessments and continuously improve training effectiveness 

  • Support leaders and employees with coaching and feedback tools 

 

Consulting and Needs Assessment:  

  • Act as a consultant to understand training needs and define key learning objectives 

  • Consult with stakeholders and experts to set clear objectives and outcomes 

  • Conduct observations to understand business strategy, processes, and needs 

  • Research and compile relevant insights and data for business partners 

 

Partnership and Collaboration:  

  • Liaise between the Partner and Worldpay teams for seamless communication 

  • Educate partnership employees on Worldpay's products, services, and systems 

  • Manage the referral process between partnership employees and Worldpay salespeople 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at the partnership 

  • Monitor and analyse referral activities for improvement opportunities 

 

Leadership and Mentorship: 

  • Conduct coaching sessions to enhance team performance and professional development 

  • Participate in stakeholder and leadership meetings as needed 

  • Adhere to administrative responsibilities and company guidelines 

  • Complete trainer certifications using adult learning methodologies 

 

Additional L&D Activities and Projects: 

  • Participate in and lead various L&D projects to support organizational goals 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement training initiatives 

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve training programs 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of L&D activities and make recommendations for improvement 

  • Contribute to the development of L&D strategies and policies. 

 

What you’ll bring 

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Learning & Development role 

  • Proven experience in sales and operations training 

  • Strong facilitation skills in both classroom and virtual formats 

  • Strong leadership and communication skills 

  • Ability to analyse data and develop actionable insights 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

  • Proficiency in training software and tools 

  • Strong understanding of referral models and partnership management 

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 

  • Ability to create and deliver engaging training content. 

  • Proficiency in using training and CRM systems.
